program notes

19/12 is an audio-visual piece designed as a kind of one-person installation suited for an online presentation rather than for a concert space. It was realized during the rise of the second "wave" of the COVID-19 pandemic. The source material are binaural field recordings done in December 2019 in Singapore and Australia as well as short video sequences taken in and near Berlin.

For the best experience headphones and full screen playback are strongly recommended.

realization notes

All sounds were derived from three field recordings with various degrees of processing - from the original recording up to extreme temporal and spectral manipulations. Also the visual part is based on three more or less processed video recordings. Most of the audio processing was done with SuperCollider whereas video editing, processing and composing was made with Resolume Avenue using my own and standard FFGL plugins and DaVinci Resolve.

The audio recordings were made nearby the MacRitchie reservoir in Singapore and in the Otway Ranges near Lorne, Victoria/Australia. Video recordings were taken in Berlin-Weißensee, by the Briese river and on the Seddin lake.
