Traces was performed for the first time by Pedro Rodrigues in May 2007 at the Instituto Franco-Português in Lisbon.

realization notes

The real-time processing of the guitar sounds is done by a patch written in SuperCollider3. Most of the processings need to be controlled via a MIDI faderbox. There is no pedal or any other device to be operated by the guitar player so the electronic part is to be controlled by a laptop musician or a sound engineer.
All effects and processings are written for multi channel setups with 4 to 8 loudspeakers but a simple stereo setup would also do.
The guitar needs to be amplified by a cardioid condenser microphone. An additional contact microphone or pickup has to be applied onto the guitar surface to feed the electronics.

There is also a version for guitar and stereotape. The tape part consists of recordings of the live-electronics and the guitar.
